THE COMPANY

Since 1993 we have operated in the Port of Punta del Este, located on Rambla Mansa and Calle 21 “La Galerna”. It is Esplanade D where you access the Varadero, the Port’s ship nursery. Popularly known as Calypso Dock, it is where the boat moors and our Sales Cabin is located, which has 2 wooden decks. We provide a wide variety of products with the best maritime destinations.

Our services include regular excursions, Family Charters, Corporate Charters, assistance to Fishing Vessels on the high seas and Tendering Service for Passenger Cruises that arrive at the Spa in the Summer Season of the place.

The company has ISPS certification (Ship and Port Facilities Protection Code), according to international standards of the IMO (International Maritime Organization), required to provide services and operate as a Tender for Passenger Cruises. Life insurance for 110 passengers and Hull Insurance.

OUR BOAT

EL CALYPSO

Boat 53 feet long (16m long) and 17 feet wide (5m wide), with two 435hp engines each and complete safety and navigation equipment. Suitable for passenger transportation. Built in Florida – USA, it is certified by the National Naval Prefecture for 110 passengers in the Bay and 45 passengers in the open sea, plus the crew.

The Calypso’s infrastructure is one of its main strengths, as it has a main room furnished with tables and benches that is ideal for both meals and meetings and can comfortably accommodate up to 40 passengers. This room is covered, with open or closed sides according to the preferences of our clients.

It has a second floor with an open deck with 2 important tables in the center and on the side with comfortable seats that can comfortably accommodate up to 25 passengers. We also have kitchen infrastructure to provide exclusive dinners and lunches for up to 35 passengers. And infrastructure to store stock.

OUR CREW

On board the Calypso we have an excellent professional crew, committed to providing safety and service to its passengers. Annually we carry out training courses and training exercises, in order to achieve the highest standards in our training.

The minimum navigation crew on the Calypso is made up of a captain, a boatswain and a sailor. On occasions where conditions warrant it, the crew is increased with one or two additional sailors.

All crew members are merchant mariners qualified by the Uruguayan National Naval Prefecture, and have all O.M.I. courses. required to date (Fire Fighting, Social Responsibilities, Crowd Control, Breakdown Control, Survival at Sea, First Aid, Ship and Port Facility Protection Code and Safety Management Code). Two of the captains have 20 years of seniority and experience in the area, and the third 10 years.

Spanish, English and Portuguese are spoken on board.
